OUR MISSION

EcoVentures Hawai‘i is an experiential learning opportunity for anyone interested in sustainable living and how we, as individuals, can contribute as responsible Planet Citizens.

The primary purpose of EcoVentures Hawai‘i is to increase awareness and understanding of human ecology and the importance of our everyday actions on the health of our environment. You will meet local businesses, institutions and professionals who care deeply about global ecology.

We, as an island State, are extremely vulnerable to catastrophic global events, climate conditions and foreign competition. Currently, Hawai‘i imports over 85% of its food supply unlike the ancient Hawaiians who were able to feed over a million people without imports and modern transportation. You will taste locally sourced, organic foods and will appreciate the dedication of our local farmers and businesses who are committed to sustainable practices.

By using ethical environmental practices and caring for our natural resources, we can make a difference and insure a better future for upcoming generations.

Ms. Ogata has 20 years experience as a K-12 educator (ELA, science, art) and has a great passion to help people malama ‘aina (take care of the land).

Since 2002, HI FusionED has been connecting Hawai‘i educators with local professionals from academia, industry and the community to co-design engaging, hands-on learning opportunities for students. HI FusionED's primary focus is to increase interest and engagement in science and technology pathways.

EcoVentures Hawai‘i has brought EarthWorks and HI FusionED together to offer learning experiences to everyone, not just for schools. We believe that it is important to bring environmental education to the forefront in the classroom but it is critical to bring environmental education to the forefront for everyone. Period.
